Greggory D. Groves
Gregg returns to Lowther Johnson, in an “of counsel” role, after serving as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts. While proving to be a successful litigator and leader during his first tenure with Lowther Johnson, Gregg was asked to guide the John Q. Hammons enterprise through a myriad of “bet-the-company litigation” and bankruptcy where ultimately all allowed claims of creditors, both secured and unsecured, will be paid in full—an extreme rarity in bankruptcy cases.
While still a Trustee of the John Q. Hammons Trust, Gregg is returning to private practice as of counsel where he will assist and guide businesses and individuals with their legal needs. Gregg’s civil practice includes personal and business litigation, complex litigation, labor and employment, real estate matters, wrongful death and personal injury.
Gregg’s proven success as an effective litigator with outstanding judgment has earned him an excellent reputation in the legal community. Gregg has been awarded with Martindale-Hubbell’s prestigious AV rating, a peer rating reflective of preeminence and the highest level of professional excellence. He has also been included in Missouri Super Lawyer’s magazine and has secured multi-million-dollar settlements and judgments.
Gregg also serves as an adjunct professor in Missouri State University’s Department of Finance and General Business where he teaches an upper level and graduate level course in Employment Law and Discrimination.
Gregg looks forward to serving the legal needs of businesses and individuals in Southwest Missouri.
